World Antimicrobial Awareness Week
World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) is annually celebrated from 18 to 24 November. WAAW aims to improve awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) among the general public, health workers and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of drug-resistant infections. The scope of this year´s campain was expanded to all antimicrobials (antibiotics were in focus in previous years) and the slogan for 2020 is "Antimicrobials: handle with care".
